Wild Child Beanie // Knitting Pattern

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

This is perfect beanie to crossover the seasons. I prefer super chunky knits in the dead of Winter but the closer it gets to Spring our weather is still pretty unpredictable so it's good to be prepared. The fold over brim gives this beanie the versatility to go from a fitted to slouchy style. Even though it is much lighter than the classic chunky Winter beanies it is still warm enough to wear out wandering about. The yarn I chose for this design is kind of unique. It's technically a Category 4 weight although if it were up to me I would have put it in the 5 Category. It's 100% Acrylic but reminiscent of a roving yarn which makes it very cool to work with. This yarn is exclusive to Hobby Lobby and they only make about 5 colors, all of them variegated. Naturally I chose the 'Grays' though there are a couple colorful ones that are equally as stunning if that's more your vibe. So let's do this!

Cut your yarn and thread onto tapestry needle. Gather remaining STS and FO. Now sew in your loose ends and yay you're done!! It looks great topped with a pom too if you're into that sort of thing. I made a 3" faux fur one which is also available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.
